Nerja

The town of Nerja, located in the province of Malaga, in the autonomous community of Andalusia (Spain), has a history that dates back to Roman times. During this period, the region was inhabited by the Romans, who built a villa in the place where Nerja is today.

However, it is during the Moorish period that Nerja experiences the greatest development and growth. The Arabs arrived in the region in the 8th century and established a fortress in the place we know today as the Castillo de Nerja.
